Day 10 UK....

We have been down in Hastings for the week, right on the sea and it has been cold!  The sun finally came out on Thursday night (yes night, it was about 9pm) from the clouds and the weather has been surprisingly dry season like since!  Nick and I hired a car, we drove back from Hastings to London Clapham Junction with google maps opened up - drive was pretty easy actually, only a few minor where the fuck are we moments - would really help if the british government spend some extra cash on STREET SIGNS!  They would really help!  Went to a cool little pub near Tamara and Leigh's place - tried a different local beer, quite nice.  A guy turned up with his collie dog and sat down at the tablet near us and got a bowl of water for the dog from across the bar - dog just flaked out and went to sleep at his feet as the pub filled up and got noiser!  Seamus would want to bark at everyone that came in the front door if he was allowed into the pub! Tamara met us there after work and Nick's mates Woody and Luke arrived so we went and had pizza express for tea, followed by a box of cadbury chocolate fingers on the walk home - 1 pound from asda!

Nick and I had breakfast and a look around at clapham high street this morning, checked out TKMax (could spend hours in there sorting through all the stuff!) and Debenhams.  We might go check out a market tommorrow morning, just depends what happens tonight!

London Town

Arrived in London at 5.25 am, smooth riding through customs and immigration then a few trains and now we are 5 mintues away from Putney Bridge Underground Station.  Managed to stay awake and fight the jetlag until 10am, sleeping in the 'dungeon' - brings back memories of final year Vet School at 16 Bayliss Street.  Spent over 3 hours on trains getting around to sort out some vet stuff, and tommorrow is more of the same.  Hopefully have got a job 45 minutes north from London, will be all sorted by tommorrow.

Back on it in the Qantas Club Singas

The junket has begun!  Rolled out of Darwin with 1L Triple Distilled Rum (but forgot the cherry ripes!!) and way too much hand luggage but made it through Jetstar no problems.  We are currently sitting in the Qantas Club in Singapore sipping on tiger beers and bourbons and pizza (what has the qantas club come to!!).  Getting ready to get on the plane at 2220 and arrive 0525 in Heathrow.    Spent the time here sending off for jobs so its all begun now.  Hears hoping that the Premium Economy was worth the cash!!

The countdown begins - 16 days until lift off!!

Hi all!
We are getting ready to start our trip over to the UK, spoke to Tamara yesterday and its finally happening! Went onto google maps after I got off the phone to her and found her house with the live maps!!  Very Cool!!

We fly into Heathrow at some ungodly hour in the morning but I'd say after living in Darwin for the past 4 years that it will be a huge eye opener!  Hopefully by flying Premium Economy on the big red roo we will be a bit more rested!

A few more things to do in Darwin before we leave though - the annual AVA conference is on next week, engagement and going away party to organise on the last weekend and only 2 more nights on call!!
